Staying Healthy and Young with Exercise

Everyone wants to find the fountain of youth and look and feel young for as long as possible. However, while many people turn to skin creams and drugs to help them achieve the appearance of youth, the truth is that the best way to look and feel good is through exercise. Here are some of the ways exercise can help you stay healthy and young.

Yoga

The different yoga postures help the blood flow more freely through your body and can give you a real energy boost. Research has shown that practicing yoga twice a week can help people to distress, build bone mass and fight off infections. You don’t need to be able to twist yourself into a pretzel to practice yoga, simply start of gently with stretching and breathing exercises and work up from there. Add a short meditation session to the end of your yoga session to help keep the mind and body in balance and make you feel calm and ready to face the rest of the day.

Swimming

When you swim you sweat out toxins, making your skin glow. Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise you can do, as it uses every single muscle in the body. The more you swim, the better you will look and feel and this is also a great way to distress at the end of a busy day. A lot of different types of exercises actually become easier when performed in the water, so while you are in the pool you could also try a few aqua aerobic moves to help keep you in shape and feeling great.

Dancing

Dancing releases endorphins that make you feel happy and look younger. It is important to choose a type of dancing and an environment that you enjoy so that you get the most out of this form of exercise. Just dancing for 30 minutes a week can make a big difference to your muscle tone as well as the way that you feel. If you have two left feet or feet self-conscious hanging out in the local nightclub, join a dancing class so that you can have fun with other people while reaping the benefits of this excellent form of exercise.

Power Walking

Not everyone has the stamina or means to follow a set workout schedule. However, simply walking briskly for 30-40 minutes a day can help you to stay healthy and young. Try walking to the shops instead of driving the car and you could see a big improvement in your overall health.
